You are the on-site authority on a travel crew. BICSI Installer 2 or Technician. Lead the work on data centers, retail rollouts, and commercial sites across the country, mentor data techs, fusion-splice when it counts. $20-40/hr. The next seat after this is superintendent.
Responsibilities
- Be the technical bar on a travel crew: copper, fiber, fusion, test, closeout.
- Mentor one or two juniors so they can copy the termination, not guess.
- Reject a bad run. First-pass test results are the job.
- Fusion-splice and certify when the job turns on that work.
- Leave as-builts the next crew can trust.
How we measure this seat
- First-pass test results.
- Juniors can copy the termination without you standing over every port.
- Closeout is complete the same week the work is.
Who this is for
- BICSI Installer 2 (copper or fiber) or Technician. TECH is the supervisor credential, not an installer one.
- You have been the person other techs ask when a test fails.
- Willing to travel the U.S. on a crew.
- Authorized to work in the U.S.
What you get
- $20–40/hr posted. Starting $20–25. The top end is $40 as you certify and take ownership.
- Dollar raises every six months for anyone performing.
- BICSI, OSHA, and manufacturer certifications paid on the clock.
- Path: technician → lead → superintendent → PM or engineering.
